Welcome to Osaka! You will be greeted by an English-speaking assistant at the airport. The assistant will get you in the bus to your hotel.

Day2

Osaka-Kyoto-Kanazawa

Starting the tour visiting Kyoto, the heart of Japanese tradition. We visit Fushimi Inari Shrine where you will see thousands of Torii gates. One scene in "Memoires of Geisha" was shot here. Also, you can't miss Nijo Castle. The Shogun constructed this building and used when visiting Kyoto until 150 years ago. It's also the place where the last Shogun gave his political power back to the Emperor.




Lunch is one of the typical Japanese cuisines, Shabushabu, thinly sliced beef which you cook in the boiling water.

Then we head for Kanazawa.

Day3

Kanazawa-Gokayama-Shirakawago-Takayama

In the morning, we visit Kanazawa which is called little Kyoto. They have developed a lot of art crafts such as gold leaf, lacquer ware, Yuzen dyed fabrics and porcelain. We visit Kenrokuen Garden, one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan where you can see famous Yukitsuri, a support protecting from the weight of snow to be seen only in winter. Also we visit local food market with a lot of crabs and geisha district called Higashi-chayagai.



Then we go to Gokayama, the World Heritage small village with A-shape folk houses. You will find the traditional living style by visiting one of the houses with thatched roof.


After checking in the hotel, we go to night tour of Shirakawago, another World Heritage Site with folk houses. This is a special day when you can see the light-up. This fantastic scene will be your unforgettable memory.

We stay in Takayama.

Day4

Takayama-Matsumoto-Yudanaka

In the morning, we explore Takayama, small town with old houses. We also visit the morning market which sells local fruits, vegetable and hand crafts.

Then we drive to Matsumoto through the local highway surrounded by snowy mountains.





Matsumoto Castle

Today’s lunch is soba (buckwheat noodle). Japanese people love to eat soba and Matsumoto is one of the soba sanctuaries.

After lunch we visit Matsumoto Castle (National Treasure). This is one of the few genuine castles remaining from the feudal time.

Tonight, we stay in the Japanese style hotel with hot spring and enjoy Kaiseki dinner. Sleeping on Futon, of course!

Day5

Yudanaka-Obuse-Lake Kawaguchi

Today's highlight is Jigokudani Yaen-Koen where you can witness real snow monkeys. They will come to the hot spring in the snowy valley and enjoy bathing!

Lunch is chestnut rice which is a local delicacy of Obuse. Nice to stroll the area finding chestnut sweets.





In the afternoon, we head for Mt. Fuji area. Mt. Fuji is the highest peak in Japan, which has just become No.17 World Heritage Site in Japan. It has been appreciated by many Japanese for ages because of its perfect conical shape.

We stay in a Mt. Fuji view hotel by the Lake Kawaguchi.

Day6

Lake Kawaguchi-Tokyo

On the way to Tokyo, we stop by Oshino-Hakkai, one of the best view points of Mt. Fuji with pure water ponds and old houses.







In the afternoon, we finally arrive in the capital city of Japan, Tokyo. First we look down the huge city from 200m-high observation floor of Tokyo Metropolitan Building. Then we visit Asakusa. You will find one of the oldest and biggest Buddhist temples in Tokyo dates back in 7th century. You also have a chance to buy traditional souvenirs on Nakamise Street.

We stay in Daiba area, very popular area with many shopping centers and restaurants. Also breathtaking view of Tokyo bay with Rainbow Bridge.

Takayama Festival Day6

Tokyo-Narita Airport
