Fukuoka Prefecture is a prefecture of Japan located on Kyushu Island. The capital is the city of Fukuoka, the largest city in Kyushu.
It’s made up of two former towns, the Fukuoka castle town on the west bank of the Nakagawa and Hakata on the east. If you visit there, you can feel Fukuoka’s warmth and friendliness.
In Dazaifu-shi , there is a famous Shinto shrine, Dazaifu Tenman-gu . It was built over the grave of Sugawara no Michizane and is one of the main shrines dedicated to Tenjin, the deified form of Michizane.
